The Canadian Ambassadors Hockey Club was established in 1981 in preparation for a series of games in Germany. The team was comprised of many talented Winnipeggers who played at the Junior, European or Professional level. Winnipeg hockey greats such as Gerry Pion (Philadelphia Flyers) and John Mazur (Houston Aeros) filled out the ranks.
Over the years the Ambassadors have been sponsored by local restaurants and bars and unofficially by a local dairy producer. The team has also enjoyed the rewards of sponsorship from two local breweries in the 1990's.  |
